On the Traces of LightAt the turn of the year 2002/03 I spent two weeks in the polar night, in the fishervillage Berlevåg in Northern Norway. At this time of the year there are about four hours of half-light, which I used to do skitours and snowshoetours. Most of the time I was the only one who was outside at the fjell. And I never experienced the sunlight as intense as there, where it was perceivable only indirectly. The photos are from later years, when I had got my digital camera. Photos marked with "D" are from Dieter Salathe. |
